FERRAGAMO SPA SUES FORMER FOOTBALL STAR VINCE FERRAGAMO OVER TRADEMARK INFRINGEMENT
Italian design house Salvatore Ferragamo SpA has brought a suit before the Southern District of New York (a federal court in Manhattan) against former Los Angeles Rams football player Vince Ferragamo accusing him of infringing its trademarks by operating a similarly-named winery. Ferragamo SpA’s claims that Vince Ferragamo is selling wine under the name “Tenuta di Ferragamo” which is confusingly similar to its trademarks. They further claim that it is likely to confuse consumers into believing the two are associated or that Ferragamo SpA is endorsing the winery business being run by Vince Ferragamo.
